The NECA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles “The Catwoman from Channel 6” box set is
a deluxe 4-pack action figure release based on the classic 1987 TMNT cartoon series (specifically the Season 2 episode of the same name). Released originally as a 2021 convention exclusive and later distributed at retail, the set highlights the Channel 6 newsroom cast experiencing various wild cartoon mutations.
Included Figures & Character Descriptions
- Catwoman April O’Neil: The centerpiece figure showcases April mutated into a feline. She retains her signature red hair and yellow jumpsuit, but features a sculpted cat head with ears and whiskers, brown “hairy” cat limbs, claws, a bendy tail, and the purple mind-control collar Shredder used to control her.
- Irma Langenstein: Depicts the clumsy secretary wearing a slightly worried expression, complete with fragile sculpted glasses and a separate wristwatch piece. She includes swappable parts to transform her into a “Were-Rat” mutation (alternate rat head and fur-covered lower forearms/hands).
- Burne Thompson: The gruff Channel 6 station boss comes with alternate heads to switch between his standard yelling expression and a rare smiling/satisfied face.
- Vernon Fenwick: The cowardly cameraman features a frantic expression and comes with an alternate blindfolded head and a news headset.
Mutant Mini-Figures & Accessories
The set is packed with show-accurate tech, studio equipment, and easter-egg micro-figures:
- Mutant Mini-Turtles: Tiny, animalized turtle versions of Burne and Vernon from their own brief mutations.
- Studio Equipment: 2 full-sized TV video cameras, 2 studio lights, a boom microphone, a news headset, and a canvas camera equipment bag.
- Episode Extras: A real stray cat, a wind-up mouse toy, a rotary telephone, a bowl of “turtle soup” with a tiny spoon, and framed studio portraits of Channel 6 personalities “Tiffany” and the unnamed “Hunky Reporter”.
- Interchangeable Hands: Multiple extra hand styles for all characters to hold various items.
Packaging Details
The set features deluxe window-box packaging decorated on the outside to look like the Channel 6 news building skyscraper. The interior opens up into a CRT TV set diorama backdrop complete with a news desk, studio window, and weather map, allowing collectors to pose the figures right in the newsroom.
