Alanis Morissette’s Such Pretty Forks in the Road is her highly anticipated
ninth studio album, released on
July 31, 2020. It marked her first collection of original music in eight years since 2012’s
Havoc and Bright Lights.
Album Description
Co-written by Alanis Morissette alongside Michael Farrell and produced by Alex Hope and Catherine Marks, the record is an introspective, piano-driven journey. It finds the seven-time Grammy winner wrestling with the vulnerabilities of middle age, parenthood, marital partnerships, mental health, and addiction recovery. Sonically, the album creates a textured blend of alternative rock and glossy adult contemporary pop, featuring rich string arrangements, layered acoustic guitars, and Morissette’s characteristically raw, emotive vocal delivery.
The physical vinyl LP release is typically housed in a premium gatefold sleeve and includes printed inner sleeves with full lyrics and album art.
