The Alice in Chains: MTV Unplugged vinyl is a double-LP release that captures the band’s legendary, raw acoustic performance from April 10, 1996, at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
This historic album features a stripped-down setup that highlights the band’s rich vocal harmonies and dark songwriting. It notably stands as lead vocalist Layne Staley’s final public performance with the group.
The album has been pressed across several major editions, including the rare 1996 original, a highly sought-after 180-gram Music On Vinyl reissue from 2010, and official 30th-anniversary reissues released on September 25, 2026.
2LP (Double Vinyl) gatefold jacket, standard Black Vinyl: Available globally, often using retro Columbia/Sony Legacy labels for an authentic vintage look.
Reissues like the 2010 pressing utilize 180-gram heavyweight vinyl to maintain the rich deep low-ends of the acoustic guitars and bass.
